How to Set Parental Controls on Your Child's iPhone or iPad
Many parents today allow their children and teens to have smartphones because they are convenient and provide a great way to stay in touch.
As there are so many resources available online, it can be hard to know what is appropriate for your children.
Fortunately, Apple devices have a fantastic function called Screen Time.
Screen Time is free and built-in. Screen Time will allow the parents to set restrictions and even set a limit on the time their kids can use certain applications.
To get started, you need to have Screen Time activated on your device.
First, go to Settings on the device and tap on Screen Time
Tap turn-on Screen Time
Tap on Continue and then click on either “This is My Device” or “This is My Child’s Device”
Tap Downtime – this will let you set the hours you want your kid’s iPhone to be offline.
Tap the back button, then go to App Limits. Here, you can set a limit on how long your child can use features and certain apps.
Then, tap the back button and Tap the Content and Privacy Restrictions, and you can set a passcode.
Tip: For a more secure access, use a different passcode from your lock-in passcode.
Quick Guide on Changing/Turning off your child’s passcode on the device
Tap Settings> Screen Time> “your child’s name”> Taps Change/turn off screen time passcode.
With the help of these steps, you will be able to keep your child safe from dangerous websites and inappropriate content that may cause harm.
